Marine Mitra ("we", "our", "the app") is a farm management tool for aquaculture (shrimp/fish pond) operators, used by farm owners and the field managers they work with to record daily pond data. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how you can control or remove it.
Information we collect
- Account details — your full name, and either a phone number (for phone + PIN sign-in) or your Google account email (for Google Sign-In).
- Farm data you enter — location/farm names, pond details, crop and stocking records, and daily logs (feed, water quality, mortality, medicine, and expense entries) that you or your farm's managers record.
- Photos you choose to upload — check-net photos, mortality photos, scanned logbook pages, and water test-strip photos, used to help fill in log entries and, where relevant, for AI-assisted reading of text/values in the photo.
- Push notification tokens — if you enable notifications, a device token is stored so we can send daily summaries or log reminders. This can be turned off at any time from Profile → Notifications.
We do not collect device GPS/location data. "Locations" in the app refers to farm site names you type in, not your device's physical location.
How we use this information
Solely to operate the app: authenticating you, storing and displaying your farm's records, generating feed/health recommendations from your logged data, and (if enabled) sending you notifications about your farm. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Who can see your data
Farm data is visible to the farm owner and the managers assigned to that farm's locations — this is how the app is designed to support a team working the same ponds. It is not visible to other farms or the public.
Data retention
We keep your account and farm records for as long as your account is active, so historical logs remain available for tracking pond performance over time. You can request deletion at any time — see below.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from within the app: Profile → Delete My Account. This removes your personal identifying information (name, email/phone) and permanently disables sign-in to that account. Farm records tied to a shared farm (ponds, logs) that other team members still rely on are anonymized rather than deleted outright, so a departing manager's history doesn't erase a farm owner's records.
